VUGUV
How it works
The world has “gone mobile.” Just as in 1996 when the “information superhighway” began to take hold, FedNet has forged a new and exciting way for citizens to watch the United States Congress in action. The first to stream Congress over the wired internet, FedNet is now the first to broadcast from Capitol Hill over the wireless network to America’s smartphones and tablet devices.
The best part is, it only takes two taps to see Congress on your device.
If you are visiting us at VUGUV.com on your mobile browser, our mobile website will appear. On our home page, swipe down to the event you want to see and tap the title in green, pulling up a page with its information. On that page, tap the title Voila! a prompt for most devices will appear for you to play our broadcast. Use your preferred or default media player and you, nearly anywhere in the world, are practically in the room.
Think of your smartphone or tablet as basically a receiver in just the same way as your television, picking up the signal over your carrier’s network rather than cable. We recommend connecting to the nearest WiFi for the best uninterrupted viewing. Connecting to the latest network technology, 4G LTE, available from many carriers and still expanding around the country, is strongly suggested also. A 3G connection should suffice in many areas. Data charges may apply.
Audiences
The Public. The “wireless public” is huge and growing. Anyone with a smartphone or tablet, connected to WiFi, 4G or 3G networks through their wireless carrier is able to visit VUGUV.com on their mobile browser.
News Media. Journalists are said to author the first draft of history. No one can be in two places at once and VUGUV is the perfect remedy for reporters assigned to Capitol Hill and their editors back at the bureau alike. Whether following developments on the floor while on the move, or monitoring a press conference from their desk, VUGUV is a solution to one of the reporter’s unenviable problems: getting the news without enough hours in the day.
Congressional Staff. Just as the reporter’s workday is long and tiring, the staffs of Senators and Congressmen are tasked with an intense and unending list of responsibilities to their bosses. VUGUV helps by allowing staffers to watch their bosses and their opponents in debate, in committee and before the media from anywhere on the Capitol Complex or around the country.
Educators & Students. VUGUV is the premier wireless destination in the classroom or over homework for teachers and pupils to witness the Congress in action. Instructors can follow debate while grading papers and their students can fulfill the assignment to watch and reflect riding home from school on the bus or with their parents, who will appreciate the time not gaming.
Regulators & Regulated. Federal agencies of all kinds with an interest before the Congress as well as private entities who are impacted by Congressional action will find VUGUV a key instrument for tracking the progress of mark-ups and debates on the issues concerning them. Around the conference table or on the job site, officials and management can rely on VUGUV for coverage of the events that affect them directly as public policy is crafted.
Advocacy Organizations. With myriad interests at stake over legislation or commentary, the advocacy community will find VUGUV and attractive option when it comes to monitoring action on Capitol Hill and mobilizing their constituencies to do so as well –
Anytime. Anywhere. No Cables Required.
